Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution

Mitsubishi has unveiled details on the 2011 Lancer Evolution, a model that will be offered in two versions: GSR and MR. For 2011, the sporty sedan gets a few exterior updates and some new technologies.
The 2011 Lancer Evolution GSR models get a large rear spoiler, while the MR version receive a stylish low-key rear lip spoiler. The exhaust system has also been tuned for an even more sporty-sounding exhaust note. The list of new technologies includes a FUSE hands-free link system, real-time traffic, and USB auxiliary input.
Under the hood there is a 2.0-liter DOHC 16-valve inline-4 engine that delivers 291 HP with a full 300 lb.-ft. of torque produced at a much lower 4,000 rpm. The engine can be mated to either a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed Twin Clutch Sportronic-Shift transmission. Mitsubishi Innovative Valve timing Electronic Control system (MIVEC) works on both the intake and exhaust camshafts for optimized power production and cleaner exhaust emissions. This turbocharged/intercooled engine’s compression ratio is 9.0:1.
