In 2009 and 2010, Dodge released a special edition Challenger called the Drag Pak. Both editions sold out fast so the Mopar boys are building another one for 2011. If the '09 and '10 models went quick, this one is going to be gone before you're done reading this paragraph.
Instead of sticking with the 6.1-liter Hemi V8 used last year, the 2011 Mopar Challenger Drag Pak crams a 512-cubic inch, 8.4-liter V10 engine and mates it to a two-speed automatic transmission. If those engine numbers sound familiar, and they should, it's because that's the same unit used in the Dodge Viper – which produces 600 horsepower and 560 pound-feet of torque.
Go back and re-read that last line – Viper-V10 powered. Drag-race ready. Mopar Challenger.
Besides the massive mill, this Mopar Challenger Drag Pak also features everything you need to start your professional drag racing career. Get your reading glasses out because there's a long list of features, some of which we've highlighted below (the rest can be seen after the jump):
- 512 cid V-10 engine
- 2-speed automatic transmission with shift assembly and built-in roll control
- Special body-in-white modified for drag racing
- Complete fuel cell assembly
- Polycarbonate door windows
- Lightweight drag-race only front brake assembly
- Race-style wheels and tires
The 2011 Mopar Challenger V10 Drag Pak will make its debut at the upcoming 2010 SEMA Show in early November. Since there are only going to be 70 made, that may be the last time you see one unless you run down to your local Dodge dealer and fill out an application to own one.

eBay Find of the Day: 1959 Ferrari 250 California - If you have the means, we highly recommend picking one up
0 comments Posted by Dewa at 8:37 PMThis particular example is not your standard one-of-50-or-so-produced classic Ferrari 250 GT dream machines. This happens to be one of the nine aluminum-bodied competition cars. It also features the Tipo 508 D frame, which was an improvement over the less-stiff Tipo 508 C. The car has an interesting history as well. The son of the second owner was driving it home from a fishing trip in Florida when he was run off the road and landed between two bridge abutments. The body of the car was lightly damaged and some side body panels were fixed using steel instead of the original alloy material.
Since the car is not a perfect specimen, it just might be ripe for the picking. It certainly looks amazing, is original with the exception of the repaired panels and it represents an amazing period in the Ferrari timeline. The mileage is listed at 52,000 and we would love to help someone put a few more on the clock. We'll even bring our copy of "Beat City" by The Flowerpot Men. Check out the auction for yourself over at eBay Motors and then a look through the gallery below. Finally, don't forget to take a peek after the jump for a clip of some Ferris Bueller Ferrari action highlights.
PS: anyone who posts video of the car being destroyed will be banned (no, not really) – it's been years since we watched that scene but our hearts simply cannot take another viewing.

According to McDowell, the Countryman's interior room compares favorably with the Nissan Rogue, so for comparison's sake, the Rogue starts at $20,810 and the larger Volkswagen Tiguan at $23,200. Nissan's funky new Juke, on the other hand, runs just $18,960, although we'd wonder how many Mini-philes could also be considered Juke-philiacs.
A "well-equipped" All4 all-wheel-drive Countryman will ring the register well under $30,000, but with an entry price less than $4,000 over a base Cooper and just $550 above a Clubman, and a slew of people looking for a Mini with more room, they might sell more of these than many expected. The Countryman's fuel economy figures probably won't hurt, either. Mini quotes EPA estimates of up to 35 miles per gallon for the manual transmission Cooper model, with 32 mpg highway for the Cooper S model and 31 mpg for the All4 Cooper S Countryman with either gearbox.

Online Find of the Day: 1985 Saab 900 Turbo limousine is long on charm
0 comments Posted by Dewa at 8:33 PMThe owner has posted his turbocharged limo on SaabNet and states he states that the vehicle is very clean and runs great. It has 145,000 miles on the odometer, which for a 900 Turbo is barely middle-age. A first generation Saab 900 is pretty cool, and a turbocharged limo with a manual gearbox is certainly unique. We only wish we could see what has been done to the interior, but alas, there are no photos and with (what else) limo-tinted windows, there's no peeking inside, either. The asking price seems a bit steep compared to what a normal 900 Turbo might command, but this might be the only limo that would be at home running the prom circuit as it would a Swedish forest rally stage, and that's gotta be worth something.
The ad can be found in the SaabNet classifieds, scroll down a bit to find it.
